Residents of Davlyn House at Brindley Ford recently visited funeral directors John Garside and Son for an “informative and insightful” seminar.
The visit began with a chauffeur-driven limousine journey to the Biddulph branch, where they were warmly welcomed.
They learned about funeral plans and how they can be tailored to each individual and the option to spread payments over time.
A Garside spokesperson said: “The seminar was designed to take our guests on the journey of care that begins once a resident leaves the care of their home. We started from the very first call, explaining how we prepare for collection, including the use of our ambulance and the different types of stretchers we have, each suited to specific circumstances.
“We then guided the ladies through our mortuary facilities, where we carefully lay loved ones to rest and place them into our care, before moving through to the workshop and arrangement areas.
“Jade, our trainee embalmer, also shared insights into the benefits of embalming and the respectful processes involved.
“The visit concluded in our chapel of rest, allowing our guests to see the full journey and understand the dignity and compassion that underpins everything we do.”
The spokesperson added: “We aimed to gently dispel common myths and provide reassurance, offering a transparent look at the level of care, respect, and attention given at every stage.” Following the tour, everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch before being transported back to Davlyn House by limousine.
