On Thursday, 18th June, the Richard Wetherall Trio will present an evening of relaxed and engaging live jazz for members of Alsager Jazz Club.
The performance at the Thirteen Club will place the spotlight firmly on keyboard player Richard Wetherall, a musician whose experience and versatility have made him a familiar and highly respected figure on the UK jazz scene for more than 25 years.
Over the course of a wide-ranging career, Wetherall has performed alongside many leading names in British jazz, including Richard Iles, Bobby Wellins and Mark Nightingale, developing a reputation for playing that combines technical fluency with warmth, imagination and an instinctive feel for swing.
His musical work has taken him far beyond the traditional club circuit, touring internationally with Casablanca Steps and Dominic Halpin and the Honey B’s, while a memorable appearance supporting Tony Bennett and his quartet in Halifax, Canada stands among the highlights of an already distinguished career. Support will come from bass and drums.
The music begins at 8pm at The Thirteen Club, Cedar Avenue, Alsager. Everyone is welcome. Admission is £10 cash at the door, with an optional raffle.
