On Saturday, Unity Methodist Church on Wesley Avenue in Sandbach took part in international “Play Music on the Porch Day”.
Every year, musicians in more than 70 countries and more than 1,000 cities worldwide participate. It carries the slogan “What if one day everything stopped? And we all just listened to the music.”
In Sandbach, a trio of performers made music at the top of the steps leading up to the church (writes Stewart Green).
Rob Glassonbury (keyboard), Lynne Ashmore (flute) and Karen Foster (harp) played a mix of music from classical pieces to popular easy listening songs.
Unfortunately, it was a rather wet morning which was braved by an appreciative audience listening in the yard area The Sandach event raised money for Christian Aid’s Just Peace initiative.
