A real-time information screen has been installed at the Bus Hub in Biddulph.
Coun Jim Garvey said the town council has worked with partners and bus operators to retain vital bus services in the town and support the introduction of new services, “recognising how important reliable public transport is to residents, young people, older people and those who do not have access to a car.”
Writing on social media, he said: “It has been a real pleasure to work with officers at Staffordshire County Council and local bus providers to deliver improvements to bus services and facilities across Biddulph.
“Following the refresh of the Bus Service Improvement Plan in 2024, we’ve been working closely with officers to review and upgrade bus shelters and bus stops, as well as introducing the real-time passenger information.”
He said that Biddulph Town Council would re-open the Bus Hub following the installation of new information and CCTV. There will also be a new real-time information screen outside the town hall.
He said: “The new screens will provide passengers with up-to-date information about their services and, importantly, will help make the Bus Hub a more welcoming and usable space – including somewhere to keep warm during the winter months.
“It’s great to see partnership working delivering practical improvements for people travelling by bus in Biddulph, and we’re pleased that the town council can play an active role in helping to improve and protect local bus connections.”
