Congleton’s Swan Brides Boutique has received recognition for 15 years’ service to the town.
Congleton Town Council recently presented boutique owner Victoria Stradling with a High Street award.
The award was presented by mayor Coun Robert Brittain, celebrating the boutique’s long-standing contribution to Congleton and its role in supporting generations of local brides.
The boutique, located at 9, Park Street, first opened its doors in 2010 and has since become part of the town’s bridal landscape. Owner Ms Stradling, who grew up in Congleton, said she remained “deeply passionate” about the town and about ensuring her independent business continued to thrive locally.
It is housed in a Grade II listed building on Park Street, originally established as the town’s Cottage Hospital in 1866. The Georgian-fronted property retains many original features, adding to its character.
Coun Brittain said: “Swan Brides is a fantastic example of a business that combines professional excellence with genuine community pride.
“Victoria’s strong connection to Congleton, along with her commitment to offering inclusive, high-quality bridal services, reflects exactly what the High Street awards are about. We are delighted to recognise Swan Brides for 15 years of outstanding service.”
Congleton Town Council’s awards scheme celebrates businesses that have traded in the town for at least five years and continue to make a positive contribution to community life and the local economy. Any resident can nominate a business located in the town centre or one of the local shopping parades.
Coun Brittain added: “I encourage residents to nominate their favourite long-standing businesses. These awards recognise the people and places that give Congleton its character and help keep our high streets vibrant.”
Nominations can be submitted via the online form on the Congleton Town Council website.
