Biddulph Methodist Church is celebrating after increasing its congregation.
Senior steward Sue Millard said: “It’s not every day a church can grow in numbers, but on Sunday at Biddulph Methodist Church, six people were welcomed into the church through confirmation, then with one addition, seven became members.
“It was a time for great celebration, and how better than with wonderful cakes made by one of the new members!”
Youngest recruit Isaac Crowther was also made a junior steward.
“He joins a very busy team here in Biddulph,” Mrs Millard added.
Sunday’s service was officiated by minister the Rev Yanyan Case, who is also a Biddulph town councillor.
Mrs Millard said after the service: “The Victoria Centre (adjoining the church) on Station Road is very busy with activities every day, something for everyone and all are welcome. As Yanyan said this morning, a building is just an empty shell until it is filled with people. Here at Biddulph Methodist Church, our building is bursting at the seams!”
