CLEGG (Sylvia Christine). Peacefully on 22nd July 2023, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Sylvia Christine, aged 84 years, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late John Ronald “Ron” Clegg and loving mum of Stuart and Joanne. The cortege is to leave her home on Wednesday, 16th August at 12.45pm for a service and cremation at Macclesfield Crematorium at 1.15pm. CLIFFE (Michael John, “Mick”). Peacefully at rest after a short illness, on Sunday, 30th July 2023, Mick, aged 73 years of Bradwell, formerly of Brereton Heath, Congleton. The much-loved husband of Rose, and a loving dad and granddad. Mick will be deeply and sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and friends. GOODALL (David Anthony). Suddenly but peacefully at rest, while at home on Wednesday, 5th July 2023, David, aged 37 years, of Macclesfield, formerly of Congleton. He was a much-loved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. David will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. The funeral service and cremation is to take place at The Birches Crematorium (CW9 7SU) on Tuesday, 15th August at 11am. GORDON (Reginald Stewart, “Reg”). It is with great sadness and love that Valerie has to announce the passing of her husband Reg, of Biddulph, who died peacefully on Monday, 24th July 2023 aged 75. Reg was a beloved husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. A funeral to celebrate Reg’s life will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Tuesday, 15th August at 2pm. HOLDCROFT (Phyllis). Peacefully passed away on 27th July 2023, at her home address, with her loving family by her side, Phyllis aged 101 years, of Knypersley. The devoted wife of the late Jack; dearly loved mum and mother-in-law of Michael, Brenda, John, Melanie, Gordon, Caroline and Jean, and a much-loved nan and great nan. Phyllis will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family and friends. Cremation is to take place at Macclesfield Crematorium at 2pm, followed by a service to celebrate the life of Phyllis at Life Stream Church, on Monday, 14th August at 3pm. MORRIS (Kathleen Ann). Passed away peacefully on 29th July 2023, Kathleen aged 78 years, of Alsager, and formerly of Wrinehill Hall Farm. SMITH (Grace Patricia). Peacefully on 28th July 2023, at East Cheshire Hospice, after an illness fought with great courage and dignity, Grace Patricia, aged 66 years, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted wife of Allen Smith, former landlords of the Egerton Arms, Astbury; loving mum to Haley and Barry; dear mother-in-law of Ben and Ursula, and a cherished and treasured grandma to Zoe and Josh, Grace was a mum to many young adults starting out in their working life. A service of celebration for Grace’s life will take place at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on Tuesday, 22nd August at noon.
