BADDELEY (Elaine Elizabeth). Passed away peacefully on 6th March 2026, at Somerset House Care Home, York, aged 88 years. The much-loved mum of Susan, Wendy and Joanne; special mother-in-law to George and Drew; devoted grandma to Rebecca, Daniel, Georgia and Robert; beloved sister of Sandra and the late Adrian Brown; loving auntie of Georgie and Emma, and a dear friend to Silvia. Elaine’s life was defined by compassion, service and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She began her journey in public service in 2002 when she was elected as a councillor for Biddulph town. Her leadership and commitment were recognised when she was elected mayor for the first time in 2005, serving proudly until 2006. Nearly a decade later, she was once again entrusted with the mayoral chain, serving a second term from 2015 to 2016. Elaine will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. Private family-only cremation, which will be held in York.

HULME (Stephen , “Steve”, 10-1-1956). Peacefully at rest 1/3/26 in the loving arms of his daughter Joanne, Stephen, age 70, of Brown Lees. A much-loved and devoted dad to Joanne; A cherished father-in-law to Jason; beloved granddad of Sean; a special brother, uncle, great uncle Sleeven, and a friend to many. Steve will be truly missed by all who knew him. The funeral service is to take place at Woodhouse Burial Ground on Monday, 23rd March at 11.30am. Would family and friends meet at the burial ground. RUSHTON (Stan). Suddenly on 16th February, 2026, at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Charles Stanley (“Stan”), aged 94 years of Biddulph, and formerly of Lask Edge. The dearly loved husband of Audrey; much-loved dad of Hazel, Marina, Ian and Jane; a dearest father-in-law, and a devoted granddad and great-granddad. Stan will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. The funeral is on Wednesday, 18th March with a service and interment at Christ Church, Biddulph Moor, at 2.30pm. SLATER (Albert Robert, “Alberto”). Peacefully on 26th February 2026, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, Albert Robert (Alberto), aged 78 years of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Christine; loving and much-loved dad of Daniel and Lindsey; dear father-in-law of Matt and Lynsey, and a cherished and treasured granddad of Ashleigh, Daniel, Kai, Francesca and Sienna. Albert was a good friend to many and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. The cortege is to leave his home on Friday, 27th March at 10.45am for a service at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 11am, prior to committal at Macclesfield Crematorium. WAYMAN (Audrey Patricia, “Aud”). Peacefully while at home on Friday, 20th February 2026, Aud, aged 85 years of Biddulph. The devoted and beloved wife of Barrie; cherished mum to Ian, Peter, Chris, Stephen and David; a much-loved mother-in-law to Lynn, Gill, Diane, Sharon and Julie; treasured nan and great nan; a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt, and a good friend and neighbour to many. Aud will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. The funeral service will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Thursday, 26th March at 12.30pm.
