CURTIS (Joseph William). Peacefully at Leighton Hospital on Thursday, 28th April 2022, Bill, aged 86, of Sandbach. The dearly beloved husband of Brenda, and much-loved brother of Barbara. The funeral is on Friday, 20th May at Crewe Crematorium, at 11.30am. Family flowers only, please; donations, if preferred, to Macmillan Cancer Support. DRAKEFORD (Alan). Sadly passed away in Tenerife while on holiday, Alan, aged 74, of Biddulph. The loving husband of Linda; devoted dad of Suzanne, Carolyn and their husbands Philip and Ian; proud granddad of Charlotte, Nick and Max; great-granddad to Henry, and cherished brother of Carol and Geoffrey. The funeral service is on Monday, 23rd May at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, at 11.15am, prior to a short committal at Bradwell Crematorium at 12.40pm. Family flowers only, please; donations preferred in memory of Alan to Cancer Research UK. FINNEY (Ronald Arthur, “Ron”). Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at Tall Oaks Care Home, Biddulph, on 27th April 2022, Ron, aged 92, of Gillow Heath, and formerly of Shelton. A devoted husband of Mavis; much-loved dad of Joy and Debbie; cherished father-in-law of Steve and Mark, and a dearly loved grandpa and great-grandpa. Ron will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service is to be held on Tuesday, 17th May at 1.30pm to celebrate the life of Ron at Christ Church, Biddulph Moor, followed by committal at Woodhouse Burial Ground. Would family and friends wishing to attend please meet at the church. Floral tributes welcome in memory of Ron. Mourning clothes not necessary, as per Ron’s wishes. GROVES (John). Of Station Road, passed away 27th April 2022. John will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. The dearly loved son of the late Samuel and Iris, and much-loved brother of Eric. The funeral is at Macclesfield Crematorium on Tuesday, 24th May at 10am. MOORS (William, “Bill”). Peacefully at rest on Thursday, 9th December 2021, while at Delray Medical Centre, Florida, United States, Bill, aged 90, of Florida, United States, and formerly of Scholar Green, Stoke-on-Trent. He was the dearly loved husband of Leslie; loving dad of the late Nicholas; a much-loved step-dad of Sheri and Dawn; beloved father-in-law of Alex and Bryony; adored granddad of Robbie; devoted step-grandpa of Danielle, Robyn, Stephanie, Samantha and Joshua; cherished great-granddad of Reece Nicholas; a special brother of Margaret, and a dear brother-in-law of Clive. Bill will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. A memorial service and interment take place at All Saints’ Church, Odd Rode, on Friday, 20th May at 2pm. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Walter Price; loving mum of David, Christine and Ruth; dear mother-in-law of Pamela, Neill and Jonathan, and a cherished and treasured nanny. The cortege leaves her son’s home at 1.25pm on Tuesday, 24th May for a service and cremation at Macclesfield Crematorium at 2pm. The dearly beloved wife of the late Arthur; much-loved mother of James and Philip; loving mother-in-law of Rosemary and Marilla, and a precious granny of Jessica and Robert. Doreen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The funeral service and cremation are at Bradwell Crematorium on Thursday, 19th May at 12.40pm.
