BREHENEY (Michael John). Passed away peacefully at home on 31st August 2024, Mike, aged 81, formerly of Elworth. The much-loved husband of Kath. The funeral service is to be held at Birches Crematorium on Friday, 20th September at 2pm. Family flowers only; donations, if desired, to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. COWBURN (Sheila). Passed away peacefully on Monday, 30th August 2024, aged 87. The adored wife of John; loving mum to Jenny and Gill and mum-in-law to Charlie; caring grandma to Philip and Ali, Mark and Yas, Adam and Fee, and Lara; step-grandma to Jess and Alice, and great-grandma to Posy, Archie and Albie. Sheila will be sadly missed by all family and friends. The funeral service is to be held at Vale Royal Crematorium on Tuesday, 24th September at 2pm. DOORBAR (Gertrude, “Gerty”). Peacefully passed away at Royal Stoke University Hospital on 21st August 2024 with her loving family by her side, Gerty, aged 93, of Biddulph. The devoted wife and best friend to the late Fred; much-loved mum of Myles, Colin and Hazel; dearly loved nan and nanan of Tracy, Emma, Andrew, Mathew and Amy, an a special great-nana. Gerty will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Family flowers only, please; donations preferred to City Dogs Home, and Iris’s Cats in Need. A service is to take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Wednesday, 18th September 2.30pm, prior to interment at Biddulph Town Burial ground. FOSTER (Dawn Belinda). Passed away peacefully at home in Congleton following a short battle with cancer, aged 58. Survived by her sons Michael, Samuel and Matthew, and her much-loved grandchildren Lexi, Esmae and Freddie. A free spirit, Dawn lived to drive heavy goods vehicles, following in her father’s footsteps, travelling the country and not afraid of the associated hard work and early morning starts. Immersing herself into her passion, Dawn was a regular visitor at shows. She made many friends through her trade as a trucker, working with James Leech Haulage. A pet lover with a menagerie of cats over the years, Dawn was an avid reader, a huge fan of music, and loved to socialise, finding all she needed in Congleton, where she married and started her family, staying where she laid down her roots. It was with immense gratitude to Macmillan nurses she undertook fundraising to support their services while in their care. Funeral arrangements to follow. KORPANSKI (Christina). Peacefully passed away at her home address on 27th August 2024, with her very loving family by her side, Christina, aged 94, of Biddulph, formerly of West Lothian. The Devoted wife of the late Daniel; very dearly loved mum of Daniel, Linda and David; much-loved mother-in-law of Andrew, and a very dear friend to many. Christina will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her loving family and friends. The funeral service is to be held at Biddulph Methodist Church on Wednesday, 18th September at 10.30am, followed by committal at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. MOTTERSHEAD (Peter). Peacefully passed away on 1st September 2024 at East Cheshire Hospice, Macclesfield, Peter, aged 90, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Eileen; cherished dad of Ian and Nicola; loving granddad of Lizzie, Chris and Georgina, and great-granddad of Chloe, Ashton, Declan, Sienna, Laiken and Rory. The cortege is to leave his home on Wednesday, 18th September at 12.35pm for a service at Macclesfield Crematorium at 1.15pm. Peacefully passed away at Royal Stoke University Hospital on 27th August 2024, with his very loving family by his side, Barry, aged 82, of Biddulph, and formerly of Biddulph Moor and Brindley Ford. The loving husband of Joyce; dearly loved dad of Dean and Yvonne; and a much-loved father-in-law and brother, cherished granddad and great-granddad and a very special friend to many. Barry will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his loving family and friends. The funeral service is to be held at Bradwell Crematorium on Monday, 23rd September at 2pm. ROBERTS (Mary, née Lancaster). Peacefully on Wednesday, 4th September 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family, Mary, aged 85, of Biddulph. A devoted and beloved wife of the late Clive; treasured mum of Susan and Stephen; dearest mother-in-law to Craig and Nikki; cherished gran of Leonie, Hannah and Natalie, great-gran of Bradley and Finnley, and a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a good neighbour and friend to many. Mary will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends. A service of celebration will take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Wednesday, 25th September at 11.20am. A devoted and beloved wife of the late Gordon; cherished mum of Chris, Gary and Ang; a dear mother-in-law to Gary; treasured nan of Steph, Anthony, Jo, Andrew, Tom and Billy; great-nana of Edward, Alice, Lola and Effy; a dearest sister of Pete and sister-in-law to Margaret, and a loving aunt and a good friend and neighbour to many. Maureen will be sadly missed but affectionately remembered by all her family and friends. The funeral service will take place at St John’s Church, Knypersley, on Monday, 23rd September at 2pm, prior to interment at Woodhouse Burial Ground. WALLEY (Louie, née Lally). Devoted wife of the late John Walley, of Gillow Heath, Biddulph. Louie passed away peacefully and with dignity on Sunday, 1st September 2024, aged 95, with God by her side in the loving care of her daughter Julie, son-in-law Philip and the Astbury Mere Care Home family. Louie was a much loved and respected aunt, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kindness and generosity of spirit. A service of thanksgiving to celebrate a long life well lived will take place on Friday, 20th September at noon at St Lawrence’s Church, Congleton Road, Biddulph (ST8 7RG). By request, will family members and friends wishing to attend the service kindly meet at the church. No floral tributes, please, but if desired a donation to the North Staffs Heart Committee in memory of an inspirational lady would be appreciated. Following interment in the family grave, all are welcome to meet in the church hall for a time of reflection to share precious memories and refreshments together. “There is a hope that stands the test of time, That lifts my eyes beyond the beckoning grave, To see the matchless beauty of a day divine, When I behold His face!, When sufferings cease and sorrows die, And every longing satisfied.
