Death Notices, 14th October, 2021

ASH (Vivian Raymond). Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, 4th October. The much-loved husband of Jaris Ash, and father to Hayley and Daniel, he will be missed by the whole family (human and canine), his friends and colleagues. In the four years since his cancer diagnosis, Viv founded the Bear Town Road Cruise to raise money for The Christie and Macmillan. He also recently organised a car cruise to open Wolstenholme Elmy Way as well as the car section for the Alpaca Picnic Fest to fund-raise for East Cheshire Hospice, whose nurses helped him in his final hours. The funeral will take place at 10.45am on Thursday, 21st October at Macclesfield Crematorium. Guests are asked to wear red. BOULTON (Phyllis, nee Jones). Peacefully passed away on 5th October 2021, at her home and with her loving family by her side, Phyllis, aged 87, of Biddulph. The devoted wife of Reg; dearly loved mum of Diane, Jayne and the late Jason; much-loved mother-in-law, nana, great-granny, and a special sister. Phyllis will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Phyllis will be held at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, followed by committal at Woodhouse Burial Ground on Wednesday, 20th October at noon. BOWERS (Rae Amy). Peacefully on 26th September, 2021, at Leighton Hospital, Rae Amy, aged 88, of Holmes Chapel. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Alan Bowers; loving mum of John and Alex, and a dear mother-in-law of Charles. The cortege is to leave her home on Wednesday, 20th October at 1.20pm for committal at Macclesfield Crematorium at 2pm, prior to a service of thanksgiving for the life of Rae and Alan at Congleton United Reformed Church at 3pm. BROWN (Ernest). Peacefully passed away on 5th October, 2021, in the loving care of the staff at The Old Vicarage Care Home, Goldenhill, Ernest, aged 87. The devoted husband of the late Elva; dearly loved dad of Susan; much loved father-in-law of Derek; very special granddad of grandchildren Stacey and Nathan, their partners John and Amy, and a cherished great-granddad to Reuben. Ernest will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ernest will be held at Bradwell Crematorium on Wednesday, 27th October at 10.40am. FORD (David Ian). Passed away peacefully on Friday, 1st October 2021, David Ian Ford, aged 83. The beloved husband of the late Margaret; loving dad to Kendra and Joe, and much-loved grandfather to Mel and Izzy. MEEKE (Margaret). Passed away peacefully at Greengables Care Home on Thursday, 7th October 2021, Margaret, aged 87, of Brookhouse Green, Smallwood. The much-loved wife of the late Harvey Meeke; adored mum to Christopher and Clare, and wonderful grandma to Grace, Howard, Kit, Liza, Oliver and Isabel. The funeral service takes place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Tuesday, 26th October at 10.45am. NIGHTINGALE (Brian). Peacefully passed away on 2nd October, 2021, at University Hospitals of North Midlands, Brian, aged 84. The devoted husband of Margaret; dearly loved brother-in-law of Barbara and Bill; much-loved godfather of Julia and Jeremy, and a very special friend to many. Brian will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Brian takes place at Bradwell Crematorium on Monday, 25th October at 2.40pm.
