AUSTIN (Michael). Peacefully at rest on Saturday, 15th January 2022 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Michael, aged 84, of Congleton. A beloved husband of Miriam; loved dad of Neil, and a treasured granddad of Caitlin. Michael will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends. BELL (Jane Elizabeth). It is with great sadness we announce that on Thursday, 13th January, in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, Jane Elizabeth Bell, aged 57, passed away peacefully. She was the much-loved wife of Christopher and special mum to Emelia, a cherished teacher and dear friend to many. Taken from us far too soon. The funeral service is at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on Thursday, 3rd February at 10am followed by interment at Congleton Cemetery at 11am, gathering afterwards at Astbury Golf Club, CW12 4RE. BROWN (Frank). Passed away peacefully at Primrose House Care Home, Haslington on 21st January 2022, Frank, aged 97, of Sandbach. Loving husband of Irene; dearly loved dad to Alan and Howard, and granddad and great-granddad. The funeral service is at Crewe Crematorium on Monday, 7th February at 11.30am. COCKITT (Michael Clare). Passed away peacefully on Thursday, 20th January 2022 at Adlington Manor Care Home, Mike, of Congleton, aged 87. The loved and devoted husband of the late Enid; treasured dad of Tim, Martin, Ellen and Heather; cherished grandpa of Richard, Nick, Fynn, Guy and Oliver. Mike was a valued member of the community and a dedicated leader of the 1st Congleton Scout Group. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. A service of celebration and thanksgiving takes place at St Stephen’s Church, Congleton, on Monday, 7th February at 11.15am following a private service of committal. ELLIS (Mary Hamilton). Passed away peacefully at Leighton Hospital, on 9th January 2022, aged 94. GOODWIN (James Stanley, “Jim”). Peacefully at rest on Saturday, 15th January 2022 at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Jim, aged 90, of Brown Edge. A beloved son of the late Frederick and Janet, and a loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Jim will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends. HARRIS (John Samuel). John passed away peacefully on Monday, 17th January 2022 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, aged 72. A well-loved man in the town of Congleton, John was a cherished husband to Sheila; devoted and supportive father to Becca; wonderful father-in-law to Suzy; loving brother to Ros, Ann and Sharon; dear brother-in-law to Phil, Paul, Dave, Malc and Caroline; much-loved uncle to Emma, Matt and Oli and dear friend to many. John will be lovingly remembered for his love to laugh and warm personality; he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Northwich, at noon on Friday, 4th February.
