BUTCHER (Keith). Sadly passed away at Royal Stoke University Hospital on 21st July 2022, Keith, aged 71, of Biddulph. The dearly loved brother of Janet and John. Keith will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. The funeral service is at English Martyrs’ RC Church on Tuesday, 16th August, at 10am. EDGE (Eileen May). Passed peacefully at Mount Pleasant Nursing Home on Wednesday, 20th July 2022, aged 92. The dearly beloved wife of the late Arthur; much-loved mother of Katherine, and mother-in-law to Steve, and a loving sister, aunty and friend. The funeral service is on Wednesday, 17th August at 10.30am at Biddulph Methodist Church, prior to interment at St Lawrence’s Church burial ground. EVANS (Eileen). Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 26th July 2022, aged 84. The much-loved wife of the late Jack; caring mum to Hilary, Laurence and Miles and their partners Chris, Clare and Amanda; adored grandma to Emma, Heidi, Tom, Lucy, Olly, Henry and Isabelle, and great-grandma to Polly and George. Eileen will be truly missed by all family and friends. The funeral service is at Birches Crematorium and Remembrance Park, on Wednesday, 17th August at 1pm. GOODGER (Colin Derrick). Passed away peacefully at Park House Care Home, Sandbach, on 29th July 2022, Colin, aged 98, formerly of Congleton. The beloved husband of the late Muriel and dearly loved dad to Peter and Susan. The funeral service is at Vale Royal Crematorium on Thursday, 18th August at noon. JAMES (Jonathan Raoul, “John”). We are saddened to announce the passing of John on Tuesday, 12th July 2022, following a short illness. With his family by his side, John, aged 55, late of Fenton Fields and formerly of Biddulph. The loving son of Ann and John; devoted husband of Cheryl and the late Sonia; treasured dad of Kim, Ash and Lewis; doting granddad of Ollie, Izzy, Abel and Angel, and brother of the late Carl. John was a mentor and inspiration to many and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. The funeral service is at St Mark’s Church, Basford, on Monday, 15th August at 11.30am. MACHIN (Garth). Elder son of Donald and Dorothy and brother of Neville. Died suddenly on Tuesday, 12th July, aged 71. MEARMAN (June). Peacefully at rest on 24th July 2022, while in the care of Goldendale Nursing Home, June, formerly of Mount Pleasant, Mow Cop, aged 92. The dearly beloved wife of the late George; devoted mum to John and Lynne; a dearest mother-in-law to Lesley and the late Andrew; a loving and much-loved nan to Vicky, Anthony, Joseph, Corinne and James, and great-nan to Tilly and Jake. A loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend who will be truly missed. The funeral service is at St Luke’s Church, Mow Cop, on Tuesday, 9th August at 11am, followed by cremation at Bradwell Crematorium. Would all relatives and friends please meet at the church. MITCHELL (Edward Thomas). Peacefully on Sunday, 24th July 2022, Edward, aged 84, late of Congleton and formerly of Biddulph. The devoted husband of Margaret; loving dad of Stephanie and Elizabeth; treasured granddad of Olivia, Jack, Catherine and Suzanne, and a much-loved great-granddad of Arya and Ziaan. The funeral service is at Macclesfield Crematorium on Friday, 19th August at 1.15pm. Family have asked that those wishing to attend Edward’s funeral kindly meet at the crematorium. SALT (Maurice). Suddenly on 10th July 2022, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Maurice Anthony, aged 92, of Leek, and previously of Knypersley. The renowned, retired headmaster from English Martyrs’ RC Primary School, Biddulph, now Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy. Also previously a teacher at St Joseph’s, Goldenhill. The much-loved husband of Jenny and the late Phyllis; dearly loved father to Philip, Richard and Jenny’s children; father-in-law to Kirsten, and adored grandfather of Sam and Jenny’s grandchildren Chloe, Poppy and James. A friend and mentor to many who will be very sadly missed. Maurice will be brought into English Martyrs’ RC Church on Monday, 8th August at 4.30pm, prior to funeral mass on Tuesday, 9th August at 11am, which will be followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium at 12.30pm. Will all relatives please accept this, the only intimation, and would friends and relatives kindly meet at the church for the services. Both church and crematorium services will be a celebration of a wonderful, long, life well-lived and with a respectful red and white theme, where possible. The family would like as many of Maurice’s friends, in line with his wishes, to come to both services and a reception afterwards. Family flowers only. WABY (Terry). Barrie and all the family wish to express their thanks for all the support after the death of Terry Waby. Terry died following a short illness surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was deeply loved and will be much missed. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. The funeral is at Macclesfield Crematorium on 9th August at 10.45am, where those who wish to join the family in a celebration of her life will be welcome. Passed away peacefully at Bradshaw Manor Care Home, Rhyl on 27th July 2022, Dorothy, aged 96, formerly of Field House Farm, Congleton and latterly of Rhos-on-Sea, North Wales. The devoted wife of the late Harry; cherished mum to Ursula, Martyn, the late Graham and the late Angela, and a much-loved grandma and great-grandma. The funeral service is at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on Monday, 15th August at 12.30pm, followed by interment in the churchyard. WORTHINGTON (Margaret Joan). Passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, 27th July 2022 surrounded by her loving family, Margaret, aged 77. The devoted wife of Paul; much-loved mum of Liz, Sue and Julia; dearest sister of Peter, Cliff, Geoff and Gillian; missed mother-in-law of Pete; grandma of Daniel, Sarah, Matthew, Jake, Adam and Louis; and great-grandma of Bradley, Max, Gabriella, Tyler, Freddie, Olliee and baby Daisy.
