Death Notices, 8th July, 2021

ADAMS (Stanley “Stan”). Peacefully passed away at his home address with his loving family by his side, on 27th June 2021, Stan, aged 80, of Knypersley and formerly of Chell. The devoted husband of Pamela; loving dad of Colin and Mark; dearly loved father-in-law, granddad and also a special brother. Stan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and neighbours. A funeral service is to be held to celebrate the life of Stan. Due to the present pandemic regulations, attendance at the crematorium will be limited. Family flowers only; donations, if desired, to Douglas Macmillan Hospice in memory of Stan. BROWN (John Harold). Peacefully on 23rd June 2021, at home, John Harold, aged 75, of Gawsworth. The dearly loved husband of Catherine; loving dad of Jennifer and Rosemary, and dear step-father; father-in-law of Chris and John, and a cherished and treasured granddad of Joshua, Harry, Matthew and Hannah. The funeral service and interment are to take place at St James’s Church, Gawsworth, on Wednesday, 14th July. GREEN (Ronald Gregory, “Ron”). Peacefully passed away at Royal Stoke University Hospital with his loving family by his side, on 21st June 2021, Ron, aged 72, of Gillow Heath. The devoted husband of Laima; loving dad of Laura, Eddie and the late Richard; dearly loved father-in-law of Joanne; much loved granddad of Archie and Annie; special brother, brother-in-law and a special friend to many. LINSELL (Ellen “Lorna” Edith, nee Coles). Passed away peacefully at her home on Friday 25th June 2021, surrounded by her loving family, Lorna, of Congleton, aged 80. The devoted and loving wife of Charles; treasured mum of Sophie and cherished grandma of Gemma. LOVATT (Ros, nee Kirkham). At rest on 19th June 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Rosalind (Ros), aged 77, of Knypersley and formerly of Biddulph Moor. The dearly loved and loving wife of Stuart; much loved mum of Wayne and Debbie; dear mum-in-law of Megan and Tony; cherished nanna of Hollyanna, Liam, Iesha, Sian and Dale; great-nanna of Finley, Rory and Maxley, and a dearest sister, sister-in-law and aunt. The funeral and interment are on Tuesday, 13th July at Christ Church, Biddulph Moor, at 3.30pm. Attendance in church is by invitation. ORME (Nancy). Peacefully at rest on 28th June 2021, while in the loving care of her family at home in Knypersley, Nancy, aged 100. The dearly beloved wife of the late Reg; devoted mum to Geoffrey, Gerald and Robert; a dearest mother-in-law, a loving and much loved nan, great-nan and great-great-nan, a dearest sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, who will be truly missed. The funeral service and cremation are to be held at Carmountside Crematorium on Monday, 12th July at 9.30am. Would family and friends please meet at the crematorium. No flowers by request. SMITH (Dorothy, nee Steadman). Peacefully on 26th June 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Dorothy, aged 88, of Winkhill. The funeral is on Tuesday, 20th July at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, at 2.30pm followed by interment at Woodhouse Burial Ground, Biddulph. Attendance in church is by invitation only. STANWAY (Agnes). Passed away peacefully on Thursday, 1st July at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Agnes, aged 87. The devoted wife of the late Harry; loved mum of Colin, Pat and the late Jennifer, Janice and Rita; dear mother-in-law to Paul, cherished and treasured grandma and great-grandma. WEST (Joan). 3rd July 2021. Joan, of Holmes Chapel and formerly of Beeston, peacefully fell asleep in the wonderful care of staff at Westbourne Care Home, aged 86. The beloved wife of Arthur; much loved mum of Shelley and the late Rosie; mother-in-law to Chris, special nan of Amy and Jason, and friend to many. The funeral service is at St Luke’s Church, Holmes Chapel, on Thursday, 15th July at 1pm followed by cremation at Vale Royal Crematorium. The dearly devoted and beloved wife of the late Harold; cherished mum of Pat; treasured nana of Lynne and Marianne and their husbands Ross and Paul; loving great-gran of Leia and Hannah; dearest sister of the late Beryl; a loving aunt to Jennifer and the late James and a very dear friend to so many. Doris will be greatly missed by all her loving family and many friends. The funeral service will take place by invitation only at St Lawrence’s Church on Tuesday, 13th July at 2.30pm prior to internment into St Lawrence’s Churchyard.
