Lauren Brown, (37), who is the creative lead for national swim school Puddle Ducks, has illustrated newly-released book Teach Like a Queen: Lessons in Leadership from Great Contemporary Women.

Written by Tracey Leese and Christopher Barker, the motivational publication is designed to inspire female teachers into leadership roles.

Ms Brown illustrated the book in her spare time and shared it recently with year seven pupils at Sandbach Girls School, after being invited to take part in a speed careers event at her former high school.

“It was fantastic to share my career path with the year seven students and explain to them what a rewarding profession graphic design can be,” she said.

“I believe everyone should choose a career that they are passionate about and, for those who love art and creativity, graphic design can be the perfect fit.

“My job gives me the opportunity to inspire, inform and captivate audiences every day and I loved giving these students an insight into my work which is also my passion in my spare time.”

She added: “I hope my talk inspired the pupils to start thinking now about their future ambitions and, like the great women featured in the book I illustrated, to have the determination and drive to be leaders in whatever field they choose.”

Ms Brown has worked for Holmes Chapel based Puddle Ducks for eight years, bringing its swimming business to life with colourful illustrations and creative content across all its marketing platforms.
