The Milk Maid Marchers raised more than £2,000 for the Christie at a coffee morning on 10th April at Smallwood Village Hall.
The event was well attended and the group members thanked all their regular supporters for continuing to attend the “lovely friendly event”.
A new addition this year was the Easter bonnet parade, and there were many creative entries.
Congratulation to Esme who was crowned the overall winner; the judge loved the homemade flowers and cute Easter chick.
As ever, there was a lot of work put into preparing for the e events and the Milk Maid Marchers thanked all their helpers and sponsors including The Cheshire Egg Company, Blaze Farm, Bidlea Dairy, Beech Tree Catering, Spark Lane Nurseries and Smallwood Village Hall – among others – for their support.
The event raised £2,225.85 which will go towards the Christie hospital.
The Milk Maid Marchers’ next event is an open garden on Saturday 6th and Sunday, 7th June from 11am-4pm.
This is by kind permission of the Barnes family at Stonyflats Farm, Brookhouse Lane, Smallwood (CW11 2XH).
There will be a bring-and-buy plant stall and (of course) delicious refreshments courtesy of The Milk Maid Marchers.
