A life-saving emergency bleed kit has been installed alongside the defibrillator in the telephone box near the Methodist Church on Main Road, Goostrey.
Goostrey Parish Council said the kit contained dressings and bandages designed to seal wounds and control serious bleeding along with clear, basic instructions to save the vital few minutes after an injury or wound occurs which is often paramount in preventing death in severe bleeding, (writes John Williams).
It is designed for use under 999 guidance until the emergency services arrive. No training or previous experience is necessary.
Developed with the support of the NHS and the emergency services, the kit includes essentials for use by untrained members of the public.
The Methodist church now includes the village post office.
