A wallet was stolen from a bus that had broken down in Congleton on Monday.

It happened at around 5.45pm while the vehicle was being fixed on Sandbach Road.

Police said three teenagers took a wallet from the Arriva bus but dropped it as they left the scene.

A spokesperson for Arriva said on Tuesday: “We can confirm an incident of theft from one of our drivers last night. We are currently assisting the police and providing CCTV of the incident. The bus wasn’t in service at the time.”
