Four people were arrested after a suspected burglar was stabbed in Congleton.
Police received reports of a disturbance at a flat at Tetton Court, near Brook Street, on Thursday night.
A 25-year-old man, who had been stabbed, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffs. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and was in a stable condition in hospital, according to police.
Two other men, aged 20 and 33, and a 20-year-old woman, were also arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding, but were all later released on conditional bail.
On Friday morning, three police cars were on Brook Street where the path at the front of St Stephen’s Church had been cordoned off, as had a section of the path nearby leading down to Congleton Park.
