Sandbach Rugby Club had further cause for celebration on Sunday, 19th April when the Junior Colts and Senior Colts both won their respective Cheshire Bowl Finals.
The U17s beat Lymm 55-22 at Stockport RFC in the U17 Cheshire Bowl Final. The U18s beat Macclesfield 37-20 at Priory Park in the U18 Cheshire Bowl Final (writes Rhys Fullerton).
Both age groups joined the 2nd XV, who won the league championship on Saturday, to finish the season in style and bring home the silverware to Bradwall Road.
Many of the U18s, who were also league runners-up, have been at the club for more than a decade and their journeys will continue as they enter the men’s senior rugby programme and compete for a place in the senior squads.
The Junior Colts will assume the Senior Colts’ mantle and look to push on for another successful season in Colts rugby.
The club sent “huge congratulations” to both groups of players, their coaches, support staff and families for the “commitment, dedication and perseverance” shown throughout this season and many before it.
Sandbach Rugby Club offers a full rugby programme, which includes four senior men’s teams, women’s rugby, touch rugby, walking rugby and a thriving mini, junior and girls’ section.
