ASHTON (Lilian, “Lyn”). Passed away peacefully on 14th October 2025, Lyn, aged 89 years, formerly of Brereton. The beloved wife of the late Roy; dearly loved mum to Julie, Mark, Darryl and the late Kim, and a treasured nana and great-nana. Family flowers only. BEECH (Anne). At rest on 26th September 2025, at Springbank Care Home, Biddulph, with her family by her side, Anne, aged 86 years, formerly of Congleton. Cherished wife to the late Brian; dearly loved mum to Brian and mother-in-law to Debb, and treasured nan to Grace and Lily. Anne will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. DAYSON (Sharon Louise). Peacefully passed away on 15th October 2025, at her home address, surrounded by her loving family, Sharon, aged 52 years, of Knypersley, and formerly of Biddulph Moor. She was the dearly loved partner of Rob; devoted daughter of John and the late Edith; much-loved sister and sister-in-law of Mark and Kerstie; doting aunt to Jack and Alfie, and a dearly loved friend to many. Sharon will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family and many dear friends. HARRIS (Raymonde Marie). Peacefully at rest on Tuesday, 30th September, in the care of the wonderful staff at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Ray, aged 97 years; originally of Algiers but a resident of Biddulph for her last 27 years. A dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Frank and Anne. Reunited at last with her adored husband John, and cherished grand-daughter Rebecca. The funeral service is to take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Friday, 31st October at 12.40pm. Would all relatives and friends please meet at the crematorium. LAWTON (Clair). Passed away peacefully on Friday, 10th October 2025 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Clair, aged 84 years, of Congleton. The devoted wife of the late Peter; adored mum of Martin and Matthew; treasured nan of Daniel, James, Bradley, Molly and Rhiana, and cherished great-nana of Maisie. MADDICKS (Patricia, née Dickinson). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at Clayton Manor Care Home, Congleton, Patricia, aged 83 years. The adored mum of Paul and Karen; cherished Nana Pat of Craig, Ashley and Reece; treasured great-grandma of Skylar; much-loved sister of Geoff, Anthony and Lynne, and missed sister-in-law of Pauline, Adrian and Jane. OWEN (Freda May, née Ash). Sadly and unexpectedly, Freda passed away in the comfort of her own home in Biddulph on Tuesday, 7th October 2025, aged 77 years. She was the beloved wife of Dennis; cherished and much-loved mum of Sarah, Drew and Becky; a dear mother-in-law of Mark, Sally and Ian, and a treasured nan and great-nan who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A service to celebrate Freda’s life will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Thursday, 6th November at 11am followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium. RUSHTON (Sylvia, former councillor and Mayor of Biddulph). At peace on 29th September 2025, at Golden Park Nursing Home, Sylvia, aged 86 years of Bid-dulph. The devoted wife of the late Gordon, and a dearly loved mum, grandma and great-grandma. Sylvia will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family and many dear friends. A funeral service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, 30th October at St John’s Church, Kny-perlsey, followed by interment at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. WOOD (Mark). Mark passed away unexpectedly, aged 66, on Monday, 6th October at Macclesfield District General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Joanne; loving dad to Katie, James and Todd; respected father-in-law to Liam; much-loved granddad to Charlie; brother to John; son-in-law to Joan, and brother-in-law to Sue, Jenny and John. Mark will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour and strength of character, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Lach Dennis, at 11am on Tuesday, 4th November. Will friends please accept this notice as an invitation to join us in celebrating Mark’s life.
