Two new Mayor’s Ghost Walks will be held in partnership with Congleton Museum this month, offering intrepid visitors the chance to hear spooky stories, explore historic locations and discover some of the town’s more unsettling history.
The walks will be held on Monday 26th and Wednesday, 28th October, starting at 7pm from Congleton Town Hall and returning at approximately 8.30pm.
With darkened alleyways, unsettling tales and stories of Congleton’s past, the walks are designed to give visitors a different perspective on the town.
The town mayor of Congleton, Coun Suzy Firkin, said: “These new ghost walks are a fantastic opportunity to see Congleton after dark and hear some of the town’s more unsettling stories.
“There will be plenty to frighten even the boldest among us, while also shining a light on some fascinating local history. I’m looking forward to seeing who is daring enough to join us.”
The walks are suitable for ages 12 and over due to the nature and content, which includes discussions of death, suicide and other unsettling themes that may frighten younger children.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children aged 12–16, plus a £1 booking fee per ticket. Places are limited and advance booking is essential.
Tickets are available from TicketSource
All proceeds from the walks will support the Mayor’s Charities – No Tier Snooker, Friends for Leisure and Lower Moss Wood Wildlife Hospital – as well as Congleton Museum.
