Big Band change for jazz club

On Thursday, 13th November, Alsager Golf and Country Club Jazz Society takes a detour from its usual format to welcome the sound of a full-scale big band.
Based in the North West of England, Jazz Stats Big Band brings together some of the region’s finest jazz musicians — a collective of passionate players who share a love for both the classic and contemporary sides of the big band tradition.
Their repertoire draws from the swing of Count Basie, the sophistication of Duke Ellington and the orchestrations of Stan Kenton, while embracing more modern influences such as Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band and works from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Known across the region for their polished performances and infectious enthusiasm, their concerts balance nostalgia and innovation, celebrating the golden age of swing while keeping the music fresh and relevant; the musicians’ camaraderie and sense of fun on stage are as enjoyable as the music itself.
The music begins at 8pm at Alsager Golf and Country Club (ST7 2UR). As always, everyone is welcome, no membership required. Admission is £10 cash on the door, with an optional raffle on the night.
