MUIR (Jane). It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Helen Muir, née Chetham, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, 1st February 2026 at the age of 78. Jane retired after many years as a talented teacher and deputy head of Tythernigton School, Macclesfield. In her retirement she was a keen bridge player, antique dealer, charity worker, and the heart of our family. Jane is survived by her husband, Don, their two children, Alex and Larry, and their grandchildren, Olivia and Harry, as well as her sister, Gill. Jane’s funeral will take place at St James’ Church, Gawsworth, at 11.30am on Friday, 27th February to celebrate her life.
