ALLMAN (Bernard Malcolm Frederick). Peacefully at Leighton Hospital on Tuesday, 25th March, Bernard, aged 94, of Sandbach. The dearly beloved husband of the late Margaret; much-loved dad to Mark, David and Peter, and a treasured granddad. The funeral is to take place on Tuesday, 6th May at Unity Methodist Church, Wesley Avenue, Sandbach, at 10am. Family flowers only please, donations if preferred to Alzheimers Society. BASKERVILLE (Allen James). Passed away peacefully on 10th April 2025, Allen, aged 87 years, of Lower Withington. The evoted husband of the late Freda; much-loved dad to Clare and son-in-law Craig, and dearly loved granddad to Georgia and Aidan. Family flowers only. The funeral service is to be held at St James and St Paul’s Church, Marton, on Monday, 12th May at 12.30pm, followed by interment in the churchyard. GRIST (Edward, 13.06.1937 – 9.04.2025). It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edward Grist, who passed away peacefully in the care of Macclesfield General Hospital, aged 87. A loving husband of Clarice, Edward will be very sadly missed and forever loved by all his family and friends. GWILT (William, “Bill”). Peacefully on 3rd April 2025, Bill aged 95 years of Alsager, formerly of Pensnett, Brierley Hill. The much-loved husband of the late Margaret; devoted father of Nicola and beloved father-in-law of Philip; treasured granddad of Natalie and Madeline, and loving great-granddad of Lilly-Mae. A service will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church, Alsager, on Wednesday, 7th May at 11.45am, followed by a private family cremation. Will all friends please meet at the church. HORSLEY (Christine, née Hill). Christine, of Congleton, and formerly Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire and Corby, Northants, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 2nd April 2025 at Macclesfield Hospital, aged 86 years. A loving mum to Simon, Mark, Gethin and Michelle; treasured grandmother to Simon, Laura, Tom, Gethin, Victoria, Yasmin, David, Jack, and Robert; cherished great-grandmother to Tinkerbell, Henry, Reggie, Harley, Matilda, Logan, Marla and Holly, and much-loved mother-in-law to Debbie, Donna and Jo. She will be fondly remembered by us all and we carry her with us always. The funeral service is to take place at 11.45am on 1st May 2025 at St Mary’s Catholic Chapel, West Road, Congleton. SPROSTON (Lilian, Lil). At rest on Friday, 11th April 2025 at The Laurels Residential Nursing Home, Lil, aged 90 years, of Congleton. The devoted and beloved wife of Joe; treasured mum of Andrew and the late David; cherished mother-in-law to Lynnette; dearest nan of Sarah and the late Daniel; a much-loved sister, sister-in-law and aunt, and a dear friend and neighbour to many. Lil will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her; she touched the lives of many. The funeral service will take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Tuesday, 6th May at 11.20am. The funeral service and burial will be at Christ Church, Alsager, on Wednesday, 30th April at 12.30pm. Will all friends please meet at the church.
