BENNETT (William Ernest, “Bill”). Peacefully on 15th May 2023 at home, William “Bill” Ernest, aged 100, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of the late Gladys Bennett; loving dad of William, Raymond and Norman; dear father-in-law of Jacqueline, Hazel and Judith; cherished granddad of Julia, Victoria, Susan, Louise and Andrea, and a treasured great-granddad and great-great-granddad. The cortege is to leave his home on Monday, 5th June at 1.20pm for service at Key Green Chapel at 1.30pm, prior to interment at Bosley Church. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Dr David Brough, and a much-loved and respected mum of Claire and Tim. BURDEKIN (Gordon). Please pray for the soul of Gordon Burdekin. It is with great sadness we announce that Gordon passed away peacefully surrounded by love on 16th May 2023, aged 70. The cherished husband of Anne; loving father to Peter; much-loved granddad of Antoine, and respected brother to Hazel, Valerie and Pamela. Gordon will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour, his love of gardening and his love of theatre. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral is at St Mary’s RC Church, at 11am on Friday, 2nd June followed by committal at Birches Crematorium, Northwich. CARMAN (John Enos). Peacefully at Macclesfield District General Hospital on 13th May, 2023, aged 91. A beloved husband to Celia, and much-loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. DOORBAR (Lyn). Peacefully passed away on 5th May 2023 with her loving family by her side, Lyn, aged 69, of Biddulph. The dearly loved wife of Colin; beloved mum of Tracy and Amy; cherished nanny of Mischa, Lucas and Isaac, and dear sister of the late Eric Burns. The funeral to celebrate Lyn’s life will be held at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Friday, 9th June at 1pm followed by a private family committal at Woodhouse Burial Ground. GOODWIN (David). Peacefully on 4th May 2023, David, aged 71, of Knypersley, sadly passed away at home.
