DAVIES (John, “Johnnie”). Peacefully passed away at University Hospital of North Midlands on 13th January 2026, surrounded by his loving family, John, aged 83 years, of Knypersley and Biddulph. MARTIN (Peter). With great sadness we announce his unexpected but blessedly swift passing on 15th January 2026, aged 93 years. He will be greatly missed. A devoted and loving husband of Amanda Martin and the late Irene Martin; father to John, Peter, Stephen and Simon; father-in-law to Jane, Hayley and Karen; grandfather to Aaron, James, Bethany and Samuel, and great-grandfather to Eleanor, Charlotte, Louie, Charlie, Rosie, Conor, Holly, Logan and Brodie. He was known locally as a businessman owning “Peter Martin” television shops. He was also a pillar of the community and for many years an elder at New Life Church in Congleton. Cremation will be private for family only. People are welcome to join us for a celebration service of Peter’s life on Friday, 6th February, 5pm, at New Life Church, West Road, Congleton.
