A local charity is looking for more volunteers to drive its community transport minibuses.

Moorlands Voluntary and Community Transport operates three minibuses, based in Leek and providing transport for local voluntary, community and not-for-profit organisations.

Sally Bentley, chief officer at the organisation, said: “Drivers must be aged over 25,and although a bus or lorry licence is not necessary, we are looking for people who have experience of and enjoy driving larger vehicles.”

She added: “We are particularly keen for someone who would be able to drive once a week for a luncheon club in Leek, as we have had two drivers step down from driving recently and we are keen to be able to keep providing this vital service for some of the most vulnerable members of our local community.”
