After swapping the corporate world to work with wool, artist Vicky Pulman has been shortlisted for the best creative arts business category in the UK Small Business Awards.
Having set up Congleton-based Needlessly Felted, Ms Pulman – who is also Congleton’s Town Crier – said she now blended creativity with well-being, offering workshops, retreats and commissioned textile art that showcased what she described as the “expressive possibilities” of wool.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted,” said Ms Pulman, a proud member of the International Feltmakers Association.
“I started Needlessly Felted after moving away from the corporate world, looking for a way to slow down and reconnect with creativity. To see the business now recognised on a national stage is incredible – and I hope it inspires more people to discover the joy and calm that comes from working with wool.”
With a busy calendar running from Halloween through to Christmas, Needlessly Felted is offering a range of seasonal workshops.
From needle-felted pumpkins and autumnal decorations to festive angels and Christmas ornaments, each session offers hands-on guidance in a relaxed setting. Participants of all levels can explore a variety of fibres, textures and techniques.
The UK Small Business Awards celebrate and support small businesses across the country.
