An entrepreneur shortlisted for two awards has said her focus on women’s empowerment and well-being follows in her late mother’s footsteps.
April Wild of Congleton has been selected in two categories at This Is Manchester Awards 2025 — Woman of the Year and Organisation, and Individual Contribution to Health and Wellbeing.
She is also due to be honoured this month at the Business Ascension Awards, where she has been shortlisted for Connector and Networker of the Year.
Ms Wild, whose business is called Wild and Wild, is the daughter of the late entrepreneur Dawn Gibbins MBE, who was the recipient of the Veuve Clicquot businesswoman of the year award.
Ms Wild said she felt proud to be walking in her mother’s footsteps, especially after her loss three years ago.
“I am in complete shock yet so humbled to be shortlisted in these categories, following in the legacy of my incredible mum,” she said.
“She showed me that women can build businesses, create change and inspire communities on a global scale.
“With Wild and Wild, I hope to continue that mission in my own way by building spaces that empower women, support their wellbeing and help them thrive in life and business.”
The This Is Manchester Awards 2025 will take place later this year.
