ADAMS (Hilary Elspeth). Peacefully on 26th May 2024, at home, Hilary Elspeth, aged 96 years, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Tony Adams and the late Tim Kirk; loving mum of Christopher, Amanda, Kate, Lucy and Candy, and step mum of Ruth, Brigid, John and Jim; dear mother-in-law of Malli, Paul, Juan, Paul and John, and a cherished and treasured grandmother and great grandmother. The cortege is to leave Alan Finneron Funeral Directors, 32, West Street, Congleton on Monday, 1st July at 11.40am for a service and cremation at Macclesfield Crematorium at 12.15pm. BROWN (Brenda). Passed away peacefully at Macclesfield District General Hospital on Wednesday 29th May, 2024, Brenda, of Congleton, aged 86 years. The devoted wife of Dudley; cherished mum of Cara; much-loved cousin of Judy and Pam, and very dear friend to Sonja, Randal, Patsy, Reg, Lily and Mick. Brenda will be missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and all who knew her. The funeral service is to take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Friday, 21st June at 2.45pm. COLCLOUGH (David). Passed away peacefully on 10th June 2024, David aged 83 years, of Hassall, Sandbach. GIDMAN (Margaret, “Marg”). Passed away peacefully on 4th June 2024, at Tall Oaks Care Home in Biddulph, surrounded by her loving family, Margaret, aged 80 years, of Biddulph. The devoted wife of the late Harry; dearly loved mum of Caroline; mother-in-law of Steve; cherished nana of Jenna, Nicci and Josh, and great nan to Reece, Drew, Harley, Riva, Reggie and Millie. Margaret will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Monday, 24th June at 10.30am, interment to follow at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. HALL Irene (nee Mountford). Peacefully passed away on 28th May 2024, at Lake View Nursing Home, with family by her side. Irene, aged 73, of Biddulph. SANDERS (Patricia Anne). Passed away peacefully on Friday, 31st May 2024, aged 84 years. The adored wife of the late Alan; loving mum to Ian, Nicky and their partners Trish and Martin; caring nan to Chloe, Jordan and their partners Oliver and Lewis, and Great Nanny Pat to Max, Effie and Poppy. Pat will be truly missed by all family and friends. The funeral service is to be held at Elworth Methodist Church on Friday, 21st June at 11am, followed by private interment at Sandbach Cemetery. SUMNALL (Edwin, “Ted”, “Ed”). Peacefully on Saturday, 1st June 2024, while at Royal Stoke University Hospital Ted, aged 93 years, of Biddulph. A beloved husband of the late Margaret; cherished dad of Frank and Karen and their partners Dawn and Mark; treasured granddad of Lee James, Karl, Will and Jade Amelia; a dear brother of Kathleen, Jean and the late Irene, Eric and Raymond; and a much-loved uncle and a very dear friend and good neighbour to many. Ted will be sadly missed by his loving family. The funeral service will take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Wednesday, 26th June at 11.20am. WATSON (Nigel Peter). Died peacefully in Macclesfield General District Hospital on 5th June. Born in 1952, he lived in Congleton all his life. He grew up on the Bromley Farm Estate and was among the first intake at the “new” school on Box Lane in West Heath. He loved motorbikes and later graduated to sports cars. He worked as a computer programmer when computers filled large rooms and needed loading with discs and paper tapes. He was always quiet and unassuming but will leave a large hole in the lives of friends and family, especially his wife Heather.

WILSHAW (Denise, née Walker). Passed away peacefully on 2nd June 2024 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, Denise, aged 83, of Biddulph. A devoted wife, mother and sister. Denise will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. The funeral service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Thursday, 20th June at 10am, burial to follow at Biddulph Town Burial Ground.
