BALL (Ernest “Eric”). Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of “Eric”, of Knypersley, who died on 28th January 2024 while in the loving care of his friends at Royal Stoke University Hospital, aged 90. A former teacher at Hanley High School. A dear friend to Barry. Eric will be truly missed and was fortified with the rites of the Holy Catholic Church RIP on whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. Reception into church and requiem mass will be held at English Martyr’s RC Church, Biddulph on Monday, 26th February at 11.30am, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium. BANKS (Reg). Peacefully on 4th February 2024, Reg, aged 96, of Alsager. The dearly loved wife of the late Jessie, loving dad of Reg, dear father-in-law of Eileen, treasured granddad of Richard and great-granddad of Samuel, Ollie and Freddie. Reg will be greatly missed by all his family and friends and was a proud member of the Prince Albert Angling Society, Congleton. BLOOR (Peter). Peacefully at rest on 7th February 2024, while in the loving care of his family at Douglas Macmillan Hospice, Peter William, of Biddulph, aged 78. The dearly beloved husband of the late Pamela. Devoted dad to Louise and the late Clare and Vicky. A dear and respected father-in-law to Wayne. A loving and much-loved granddad and great-granddad. A dearest brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many who will be truly missed. Funeral service to take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Tuesday, 20th February at 10am, followed by interment at Woodhouse Cemetery. BROWN (Audrey). Peacefully on 28th January 2024 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Audrey, aged 87, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted wife of Stan. Loving mum of Janice, dear mother-in-law of Manuel and a cherished and treasured grandma of James and Rosana. Cortege is to leave her home on Friday, 1st March at 10.15am for service at Wellspring Methodist Church at 10.30am, prior to interment at Congleton Town Cemetery. PARKER (Betty). Peacefully while at home on Wednesday, 31st January 2024, Betty, aged 90, of Biddulph. The dearly beloved and devoted wife of the late Harry Parker. A treasured and much-loved mum of Pauline and son-in-law Bob, cherished nan of Helen and Martyn, a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a good friend and neighbour to many. Betty will be deeply missed by all her loving family and friends. A service of thanksgiving will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Tuesday, 20th February at 2pm. PROCTOR (Jean). Jean Proctor, aged 85, passed away peacefully at Astbury Mere Care home on 28th January 2024. Much loved wife of the late Kenneth Noel Proctor. Beloved mother of Gill and Judi and much loved nana to Tabitha, Maya, Jemima and Saul. The funeral service is to be held at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, Congleton, on Monday, 26th February at 11.45am. SHAW (Roy). Suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, 17th January 2024, Roy, aged 72, passed away. A devoted and loving husband to Lynn, dad to Emily and Lucy and a much loved granddad to Charlie, Ada, Jacob and Jaxon, a loving brother, uncle, father-in-law and friend. Roy will be missed by us all and will be fondly remembered. Funeral service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Tuesday, 27th February at 12.30pm, followed by cremation at Bradwell Crematorium.
