ALEXANDER (Ian Waugh). Ian, of Sandbach, passed away on 24th January 2024, aged 91. He was the much-loved husband of the late Edna; father of Maureen and Christine and grandfather to Chris, David, Hannah and Beth. Ian was manager of Barclays Bank, Sandbach, from 1974 until his retirement in 1985. The funeral service will take place at Birches Crematorium on Tuesday, 13th February at noon. BALL (Ernest, “Eric”). Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of “Eric”, of Knypersley, who died on 28th January 2024 while in the loving care of his friends at Royal Stoke University Hospital, aged 90. A former teacher at Hanley High School. A dear friend to Barry. Eric will be truly missed, and was fortified with the rites of the Holy Catholic Church RIP on whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. Reception into church and Requiem Mass will be held at English Martyrs’ RC Church, Biddulph, on Monday, 26th February at 11.30pm followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium. BARNES (John Francis). Peacefully passed away on Monday, 22nd January 2024 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, John, aged 77, of Buglawton, Congleton. The dearly loved husband of Barbara; much loved dad of Steve, Nick, Lucy and Daniel and father-in-law of Sharon, Donna, Jonathan and Katy; treasured granddad of Kelly, Charlotte, Max, Sarah, Thomas, Bradley and Bobby and great-granddad of Ronnie, and a very dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. The funeral service is to take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Tuesday, 20th February at 10.45am. Will relatives and friends please meet at the crematorium. DONE (Jean Dolores). Died peacefully on Saturday, 27th January 2024, aged 92. Loving mum to Mark and Nick, loving step-mum to Phil, adored grandma and great-grandma. EARDLEY (Cynthia). Passed away peacefully on Sunday, 28th January 2024, aged 81. Much loved mum to Andrew, Alison and Helen; caring mother-in-law to Mick and Alan; adored grandmother to Tom, Lucy and Emma, and great-grandmother to George and Max. Cynthia will be truly missed by all family and friends. Cynthia will be received into church on 19th February at 4pm. HAGSTON (Angela Mary, née Carthy). Of Seamer, Scarborough and formerly of Congleton and Biddulph. Passed away peacefully on 28th January 2024, aged 75, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The beloved wife of Robert Hagston; daughter of the late Winifred Carthy; mum to Lindsey and Katie, and gran to Oscar, Hazel and Sephy. Angela will be forever missed and loved by all her family and friends. The funeral is to be held at Woodlands Crematorium, Scarborough, on Thursday, 15th February at 2pm. MACHIN (Julian). Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, 30th January 2024, Julian, aged 58, of Congleton. The much-loved dad of Becky, Sarah and Hannah; cherished granddad of Dylan, Thomas, William, Harry-Jay, Kobi and Ruby, and a missed brother and uncle. Julian was a friend to many, humans and dogs alike. The funeral service will take place at 10am on Friday, 23rd February at Macclesfield Crematorium.
