ATKIN (Dorothy). Peacefully on 9th January 2024, Dorothy, aged 98, of Congleton. The loved wife of the late Bernard; loving mum of Hazel, Christine, Lesley, Susie and the late Allan; and a dear mother-in-law, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother. The service and cremation is at The Birches Crematorium, Birches Lane, Lach Dennis (CW9 7SU) on Wednesday, 24th January at 11am. Will all friends please meet at the crematorium. BENNETT (William, “Bill”). Peacefully on 5th January 2024 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, William “Bill”, aged 82, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Bennett; loving dad of Sue; cherished and treasured granddad of Lily and George; dear brother of Ray and Norman, and brother-in-law of Hazel and Judith. A service of celebration for Bill’s life will be held at Key Green Chapel on Thursday, 8th February at 12.30pm. DODDS (Colin). Peacefully at rest while in the loving care of his family at home on 21st December 2023, Colin, of Biddulph, aged 76. The dearly loved husband of the late Beryl; devoted dad to Colin, Jane, Tracy, Anthony, Malcolm and Ian; a dearest father-in-law; a loving and much-loved granddad and great-granddad and a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who will be truly missed. The funeral service is to be held at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Tuesday, 30th January at 11am, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium. HALLEN (Mavis). Peacefully at rest on Saturday, 6th January 2024 at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Mavis, aged 91, of Scholar Green. The devoted and loving wife of the late Tony, and a much loved mum, mother-in-law, nana, great-nana and friend to many. Mavis will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The funeral service is to take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Friday, 2nd February at 11.20am. MANTLE (Joan). Passed away after a long period of ill health on 17th December 2023, Joan, aged 85, of Oakhanger. The beloved wife of Graham; treasured mum of Martin, Carol, Susan and Deborah; loving grandma to Hannah, Kaitlyn and Cameron, and a loyal friend to many. Joan has been laid to rest with her parents at Tunstall Cemetery.

MOORHOUSE (Frances). Passed peacefully on 1st January 2024, aged 95. Of Gillow Heath. Much-loved mum of Susan; gran of Heather, Jessica and Alex, and great-gran of Albie, Sophie, Theo and Elora. Frances will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The service is to take place on Friday, 26th January at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, at 12.30pm. MOUNTFORD (William Harold). Suddenly but peacefully passed away on 23rd December 2023 at his home in Mow Cop, William, aged 81. A devoted husband of the late Marion; beloved dad of Paul, and a dear uncle. William will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. PICKUP (Michael, “Mick”). Michael “Mick” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 10th January 2024 at Heliosa Nursing home surrounded by his loving family, aged 85. The cherished husband of Betty; loving dad to Mark and Ian; much-loved father-in-law to Kathryn and Jane, and adored granddad of Emma and Harriet. Mick will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour and warm personality, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, at 11am on Monday, 29th January prior to committal at Congleton Town Cemetery. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Herrick Thwaite; loving mum of Trevor, Claire and the late Paul; a treasured grandmother and great-grandmother; a dear sister, aunt and friend who will be truly missed.
