FITKIN (Charles Douglas Rex). Peacefully on Wednesday, 15th September 2025 at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Charles, aged 80 years, of Congleton. The beloved son of the late Douglas and Kathleen Fitkin; a cherished brother of Jane; loving brother-in-law to Keith; a much-loved uncle, and a kind and dearest friend to many. GOODALL (Jean). Peacefully on Saturday, 18th October 2025, Jean aged 78 years and late of Congleton. The devoted wife of the late Richard Goodall; loving sister to Sylvia, and a treasured auntie to Karen and Mark. Jean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. HANCOCK (Gladys). Mow Cop, Congleton Cheshire. 07/12/1925 – 14/10/2025 (aged 99). At home, and with her four children by her side, our precious, cherished and beautiful mum, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma left us to be safe in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday 14th October 2025, aged 99 years. Wife to William Albert; deeply loved mother of Pauline, Susan, Granville and Jane; mother-in-law to Dave, John B, John M and Susana; treasured grandma to Mark and Karen, Sarah and Rebecca, Genevieve, David, Sonja, Rory and Eleanor (NZ), Aaron, James and Bethany; beloved great-grandma to Samuel, Megan and Bethan, Basil, Scarlett and Rosie (NZ), Marlo and Quinn (NZ), Phoebe, Alexa and Charlotte (NZ), Blake, Evie, Hunter-Joe and Eden (NZ), Eleanor and Charlotte, Conor and Logan (Bermuda), and Rosie and Holly, and great-great-Grandma to Louie, Charlie and Brodie. Dearest sister to Helen, Graham and sister-in-law to Diane. For Mum, her steadfast and deep Christian faith underpinned and shaped her life and direction within her family and the community. As a young wife and mother she held many positions within the Wesleyan Chapel at Mow Cop and then at New Life Church, Congleton. When her health began to deteriorate she volunteered at Daven Primary School and helped children with their reading. Mum lived to serve and help others. Latterly she attended Wellspring Methodist Church near her home in Congleton. Mum touched the lives of so many people as a friend, supporter, advisor and confidant and her contribution to this world and the loss now felt by her family especially is beyond measure. The funeral service will be held at Wellspring Methodist Church, Congleton, on Monday, 17th November at 1pm followed by a committal service at Bradwell Crematorium. KETTLE (Alfred). Alf passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family, aged 83. The cherished husband of Kath; loving father of Karen and partner Andy, Gary and wife Bev, Lisa and husband Billy, and a much-loved granddad, great-granddad, uncle, brother and friend. Alf will be lovingly remembered for his wicked sense of humour, love of gardening, love of dogs and crown green bowling, words of wisdom and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Lach Dennis, at 3pm on Wednesday, 12th November. Will friends please accept this notice as an invitation to join us in celebrating Alf’s life.
