Woman injured in hit and run

Police are appealing for information after a woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a hit and run crash.

It happened just before 5.30am on Tuesday on Holmes Chapel Road in Holmes Chapel and involved a silver Audi A3 and a red Peugeot 108.

The 62-year-old woman was driving the Peugeot. The driver of the Audi fled the scene.
Three fire engines attended, one from Congleton, one from Holmes Chapel and one from Middlewich.

Crews made the scene safe and provided first aid to the woman before passing her into the care of paramedics.

Holmes Chapel Road was closed in both directions as the incident was dealt with.

A police spokesperson said: ““Officers are now urging any witnesses or anyone with information that could help with their investigation to come forward.

“Any information can be reported to Cheshire Police by calling 101 quoting IML 1084615 or report it via cheshire.police.uk.”
