Death Notices, 30th December, 2021

ARCHER (John). John “Dan” Archer passed away peacefully on Sunday, 12th December 2021, at Greengables Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family, aged 80. The cherished husband of Ann; loving father to Jane and Andrew; father-in-law to Diane; much-loved granddad of Jessica, George and Rebecca; respected brother to Joan, Terrance and Barry, and a dear brother-in-law to Lyn and Phil. John will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour, love of football, cricket and pigeons and his strength of character, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral service takes place at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on Friday, 7th January, at noon. This will be followed by interment in the cemetery. The family are truly grateful for all the kind messages of condolences and cards that have been sent in John’s memory. We request that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Stroke Association. CHADDOCK (Pauline). Peacefully at home on Saturday, 18th December 2021, Pauline, aged 57, of Biddulph. The devoted and loving wife of Paul; cherished mum of Marie; treasured sister of Margaret, Keith and Roy, and a dearest sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and a dear friend to many. Pauline will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends. The funeral service takes place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Thursday, 13th January at 11.30am prior to a committal service at Bradwell crematorium. Will all relatives please accept this the only intimation and would friends wishing to attend kindly meet for the service. COOPER (Cecil James). Peacefully on 3rd December 2021, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Cecil James Cooper, aged 87, of Congleton. The loving and devoted husband of the late Mavis; cherished dad of Kevin, Christine and Jackie; dear father-in-law of Sue, Ian and Colin, and a loving granddad and great-granddad. The funeral service and cremation will be at Macclesfield Crematorium on Wednesday, 5th January at 11.40am. Will relatives and friends please accept this, the only intimation. COOPER (Paul). Passed away suddenly on Monday, 29th November at home, Paul, aged 56, of Congleton. A loved brother of Wendy, Philip and David; lovely uncle of Amy and Lucy, and a much loved brother-in-law and cousin. Paul will be sadly missed by all his loving family, friends and work colleagues. DALE (Susan). Peacefully passed away at Hawksyard Priory Care Home in Rugeley, Staffordshire, on 5th December 2021. Susan, aged 74, will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. FIRTH (Doreen Margaret). Passed away peacefully at Leighton Hospital on 20th December 2021, Doreen, aged 87, of Sandbach. The devoted wife of Len; dearly loved mum to Martin, Nigel and Charles, and treasured grandma. NIXON (William Eric, “Bill”). Peacefully at rest on Saturday, 11th December 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Bill, aged 91, of Biddulph and formerly of Biddulph Moor. A much-loved son of the late William and Elsie Agnes Nixon; loved brother of Doreen and Jim; dear brother-in-law of the late Roy and Sheila, and a loved uncle. Bill will be sadly missed by all his loving family dear friends and kind neighbours. The loved and devoted husband of Jean; much-loved dad of Andrew, Lisa and Helen; dear father-in-law of Della, Robert and Jim; cherished granddad of Leanne, Matthew, Theo and Reece; treasured great-granddad of Joshua, Paisley and Ernie, and sadly missed twin brother of John and the late Michael. The dearly loved husband of the late Annette; much-loved dad of Patrick and Teresa; father-in-law of Christopher; grandfather of Richard, Suzanne and Peter; great-grandfather to Dylan, Jasmine, Millie and Olivia, and a special brother of Margaret, Pat, Dennis and Anne. Robert will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and neighbours. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Robert will take place on Tuesday, 11th January at 1pm at English Martyrs’ RC Church, Biddulph, followed by committal at St Lawrence’s Cemetery.
