Get those Knype Five places booked quickly!

Biddulph Running Club will once again be hosting its ever-popular Knype Pool five-mile multi-terrain charity race and one-mile fun run next year.

It will take place at Knypersley Reservoir on Sunday, 26th February and chip timing will be provided by AV timing (writes Gill Horne).

It will follow the usual route along the tracks around the reservoir, up through the woods then down through the fields and back along the water’s edge taking a slight detour up towards the visitor centre before the run in to the finish.

There will be a charity cake stall and Scouts will be selling hot food and drinks in the event village. Town mayor Coun Jim Garvey and Biddulph town crier John Robinson will attend.
The pre-entry fee for the main race is £10 (affiliated), £12 (non-affiliated) and on the day entries for the fun run will be £2.50.

To enter the main race, visit biddulphrunningclub.co.uk.

There will be prizes for the men and women in overall first, second and third places and for winners of the men and women’s veterans categories. All fun runners will receive a medal.

This time, the race is sponsored by Sainsbury, Bryan Dale Photography, Hollinshead Coaches, Pau Run and Ride, Rod Deaville, Biddulph Town Council, Priory Property and Lettings Services, and Staffordshire County Council. The club is grateful for their “generous” support.
All proceeds from the race will go to the town mayor’s chosen charities: Alzheimer’s Research UK, Approach Dementia Support and Biddulph Youth Initiative.

The race is a popular local event and sells out very quickly. It is capped at 250 places, so anyone who wants to take part will need to enter as soon as possible.
