Congleton Players will be back at Daneside Theatre in Congleton from 9th-13th June with their next play, a revival of John Godber’s comedy “Bouncers”.
The parody of the nightclub scene invites the audience on a night out downtown at The Boozy Bear. Four actors take on the roles of the nightclub bouncers, sharing their observations on The Boozy Bear’s customers, portraying more than 20 characters between them.
See them as giggly girls and drunken lads on the pull, to name but a few.
Directed by Em Stanway, the fast-paced take on nightlife culture blends comedy, sharp social commentary and physical theatre.
It will be Ms Stanway’s debut as a director for Congleton Players, although she is an experienced director and producer in her own right.
Assistant director Sam Hands, who has previously delighted Congleton audiences in “Frankenstein”, “The Fire and the Silence”, “One Man, Two Guvnors” and “Blood Brothers” also joins the cast, together with Lewis Robinson (“Blackadder”, “And Then There Were None”, “The Railway Children”, “Macbeth” and “The Fire and the Silence”), Sam Sherliker (“One Man, Two Guvnors”) and newcomer Graham Curtis.
Tickets from danesidetheatre.co.uk at £15, with concessions (under-18s, students and the over 60), £12.
