More concerns have been raised about land being dug up in Congleton for use as a scrambling track.
It followed a recent article in the “Chronicle” after young mountain bikers were accused of digging holes in a park and leaving logs used as jumps lying around.
That was on land near West Road playground, which is overlooked by homes on Westholme Close.
A woman who lives there said that “children had been digging up the ground and have made all sorts of ramps in the middle of the park”, that they were “ruining the land and needed to be stopped”.
Now a woman has highlighted what she said was the “same problem” at Back Lane playing fields.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said she had been in contact with Cheshire East Council about it since January.
She took photos of holes dug at the playing field before “their work was rectified” by the council.
She said: “The problem has been near the changing facilities and the public footpath that runs the length of the field.
“The council has been out on at least three occasions to remedy the problem at a cost to the taxpayer.”
The woman added: “The kids involved say their parents are happy to condone their activities as they are having fun. I am all for kids playing out but not damaging public land.
“When I approached them they were rude and continued to harass me on my walk, skidding their bikes in front of me.”
The woman whose home overlooks the land being used by Westholme Close had said: “There are no lights in the park and if someone was to cross it after dark they could easily hurt themselves because of the holes that have been dug and could trip over the logs.
“When they see you watching them through the window they just wave at you.”
There are a number of other popular jumps across Congleton, including three near Astbury Golf Club and one on Biddulph Valley Way, while there are a number of designated off-road cycling routes on the Cloud.
