Tories lose seat at County Hall in Biddulph by-election

A new Labour county councillor for the Biddulph North division has been elected in a by-election following the death of Conservative councillor Ian Lawson.

Nigel Yates, of the Labour and Co-operative Party, was elected as councillor with 931 votes.

He defeated Andrew Hart, Independent, who received 493 votes and Rathi Pragasam, Local Conservatives, who received 458 votes.
